Abingdon School Science Centre
Project Details
I am pleased to have worked on behalf of Patrick Ryan Associates with contractor Kingerlee and architects Hopkins Architects on this project, where I was responsible for the facade detailed design, including structural design, taking this right through to the construction drawings, testing and into production.
The architectural design uses brick, glass and timber for the facades, materials chosen to minimise maintenance and ensure long-term durability. The building’s design also utilises a thermally massive concrete frame and predominantly natural ventilation and lighting strategy to reduce its energy consumption.
It has achieved a BREEAM rating of Very Good.
